Making our Titles...

In my group we decided to FILM our Titles. So after choosing which Titles we wanted to include in our opening.

We used the same JVC Digital Camera we used to film our product, we cut out LETTERS from Newspaper articles - this fitted in with our story line. We then placed them down on a piece of paper spelling out the different names of each Title we decided to use.

Then using a FAN

we blew the NEWSPAPER CLIPPING off the paper.

After uploading it onto our Video Drive, we used FINAL CUT to reverse the filming and slow it down.

This made it look like the TITLES were being blown backwards onto the screen.

This create an eerie atmosphere, and it was unusual as nobody else had done this.

EVALUATION Task Six

In this project I had to use many new technologies and sometimes be able to use different ones at the same time. I used websites such as 'Youtube' & 'google' to help me research my thriller opening. I also used other sites to help influence me with ideas and themes of what a thriller should be like; for example 'Artofthetitle.com'. This website has screengrabs from other thrillers which hav already been realeased into cinema and been successful.

We used a JVC digital Camera to film our media product, i found this product easy to use. While using the camera we used a mic called a 'boom', we used this to help enhance the sound as some of it was crucial to our video, eg. the phone ringing. The camera took a memeory card which helped when downloading our film onto our video drive, helping us to transfer it onto an apple mac. This helped to keep all our projects safe, as it minimised the risk of us losing work. We also used a digital recorder inorder to record our Voice Over.

We used:

Final cut to edit all our filmed clips to create our media production.

Soundtrack pro to create a soundtrack to add to our film.

Once we made our soundtrack we had to import it into Final Cut.

Although we didn't use LiveType, as we filmed our titles, we still learnt how to use it.

I found all of these programme quite easy to use, and so did my group. We liked the idea of how much we could play around with different ideas helping to improve our film.

EVALUATION Task Five

Uploaded with ImageShack.us
Our audience for our media product would be a young audience
I would rate our film as a certificate 15
Our film would most probably attract a wide Female Audience as both the victim and villain in our film were female

Ways in which we would attract an audience:
-Using the internet (Website Banners)
-Websites such as; Google, Facebook, Twitter & Bebo
-We could add a trailer/shot clips on Youtube
-We could also use Magazines, to help attract our Female Audience

Planning for preliminary match cut.

Before we started filming our preliminary match-cut exercise, we made a basic story board. This helped us with our filming as it told us what we were filming. Our story board didn’t contain a lot of detail so we had to improvise a bit .i think having the story board there was a good guide and it helped us achieve the end result of our film. This task taught us about planning and the lack of it. I think if our plans were more precise and our story boards had more details the filming process would of been a lot easier .

Skills Audit: Filming

The filming process of ‘Pen Friends’ took roughly two days. We hoped that it would have only taken us a day, but due to complications we had to postpone filming and resume another day. Memory card B stopped working and memory card A was full. To try and resolve this problem we deleted all the unnecessary footage off memory card A, this allowed us to take a few more shots. When we went back to college we resolved the problem and we were able to resume filming the next day .

After filming our preliminary match cut film, we were all reasonably comfortable with using the cameras. We also used our time efficiently as we were well prepared as we had all of our props and our story board , which had enough detail to guide us through the filming process so we knew exactly when we wanted a match-cut and what effects and camera angels we wanted to go for. We re-filmed the same actions a number of times from different angles this allowed us to have a variety of shots when we were editing.
In our film we had an outside location and an indoors location. I found it a lot easier to film in the indoor location as it was a easier to keep everything constant, this helped to minimise continuity errors. It was hard filming outside as there was a lot more variables we had to take into consideration such as pedestrians and different cars walking past. I had to make sure that the same things were in each shot so them we edited it we had continuity. There was also a lot more distraction in our outside locations, there was road works going on and this drowned out some of our natural sound, but in a way it made it seem naturalistic as in everyday life you come across road works and other disturbances.
As well as the video camera we used a boom and an attachable light. We had dialogue in our film therefore it was vital that we picked it up and it was clear, so we attached a ‘boom’. There was not enough light in the indoors location so we attached a light, we were able to change the intensity of the light so it still looked like the inside of a house.

I don’t the majority of the filming and I think the most interesting shot was when I set the camera up under the table in front of the shoebox that contained the threatening letters. When jasmine pulled out the box you was able to see her hands and her face. I liked this shot because it was at a different angel to all the other shots and it showed the box at an interesting perspective.

Personally I think the filming process went quite well, but if I had to film it again I would check all of our equipment before we left site, this would of made the process a bit more stress free. But apart from that I really enjoyed taking part in filming and directing the opening of this thriller.

Skills audit: filming and editing preliminary match cut excercise

For our Preliminary match cut exercise we had to create a short film of someone going to someone and having a short conversation. The requirements of our film was a match-cut, shot reverse shot and the cameras had to obey the 180 degree rule.
The name of our film was ‘starr nine. We didn’t think too much into the story line but we decided to have a basic one just so our film had a bit of narrative. A girl was running into a building to meet some onto to give them something precious. Whilst filming we came across difficulties, because we were filming Jasmin running up the stairs through the window but there was a reflection of the camera crew. So we had to change the angle and the high to the camera so it minimised the reflection. We took several shots of jasmin running up the stairs so we were a bit to create good match cuts. We filmed jasmine running up the stairs from the front, from behind and her shoes. We wanted a variety of shots. One of the match cuts we used in our film was Jasmin running up the stairs through the window then her running up from behind then a clip of her running up from the front. We were still new at using the software so editing it to make a slick match-cut was difficult for us. The timing on the match-cut was not good and it speed up during it so you could tell another clip was being used. We used the razor tool to help us do our match cuts, and to cut out certain parts of the clips we didn’t want.
We found it quite hard for us to make our film flow , so we had to cut quite a lot of bits out to improve this problem this made our film a lot shorter than we originally planned. Our shot reverse shot involved close-ups of the two characters in the film. We had close ups of their faces as they exchanged dialogues and gestures we cut from one character to the other, we done this whilst obeying the 180 degree rule. When filming we realised the camera didn’t have a ‘Boom’ attached to it so the sound quality wouldn’t of been great, so we had minimal dialogue in our film ‘You got the stuff’.

We also added sound and titles on this film. We used Live type to create the titles. We had a plain black background with white thin writing with a faint white shadow. This title created an eerie mysterious effect and I think this worked well for our film. The sound was basic, we created it on soundtrack pro. The sound we composed repeated for the first half of the film we had the sound effect of a shot gun when the titles appeared I think this shocked the audience and kept them alert.
Overall I think the filming and editing of this film went reasonably well considering we have not had a lot of practice with the software. If we was to do it again I think we should of filmed a larger variety of shots and we should of added more titles.

VOICE OVER

We used a voice over along with our soundtrack to create an eerie atmosphere and for the voice to act as narrator.

Skills audit: sound track

I found creating a soundtrack for or film quite hard. We listened o many beats and sound effects but we could not find anything that we felt matched our film properly. we made a simple soundtrack that consisted of 'awareness' which played throughout the opening of our film, but we cut off the end of it as it sounded western and it did not fit in with our film. We added 'Bass Isolation' and 'Texture and Ambience 007'. These beats fit well together, but we were not happy with it because it still did not feel complete.

We decided to record a voice over that would play on certain parts of our opening. This made it feel more compleate. We used a poem which we found off the internet and adapted it slightly so it fit in with our film. I recorded the voice over for the opening, I made my voice deep so it created an eerie atmosphere. it also made the audience wonder where it came from because it was obvious it was not from any of the characters on screen.

EVALUATION Task Three && Four

Uploaded with ImageShack.us
I think my film should be distributed by
WT2. Similarly to Shaun of the Dead our film has a small budget but the potential audience is large due to the themes involved in the film. For our film to reach its full potential the marketing and advertising strategies has to be on point. I hope that our film follows in the footsteps of Shaun of the dead in terms of success. Shaun of the dead is a British home grown film produced on a small budget yet the film was quite successful because it was able to appeal to a wide audience range.

I think my film has the ability to appeal to a wide audience range with the right marketing and advertising.
Although the film has a small budget I think 'pen Friends' has the potential to make it to the red carpet and hit the wide screen globally.
The release strategy of ‘Pen friends’ is going to resemble the release strategy of paramount’s star trek 2009 and Shaun of the dead. The trailers for this film will be released o the Internet 3 months before its planed release date this will create an international hype. A months before the release the trailer would be released on national television. Like Star treks ‘Pen Friend’ will have three different trailers so the film attracts a wider range of audience. Each of the trailers would show a different aspect of the film.

The Internet is going to be key in the advertisement of our film. Because our film is ’home grow’ and it is being produced on a low budget we are relying on support and participation from the audience. On the web site the audience is going to be able to subscribe to the site ad keep up to date with the filming and the progress the film is making. Again this will help create a hype ad cause a lot of people to talk about the film so when it is released their will be a large amount of people wanting to see it. As well as the website we will also use social networking site such as facebook ad twitter this will appeal to a younger audience. We will also have various billboards’ in different locations such as train stations. Our advertising campaign will also will also involve radio adverts.

Skills audit: editing

I found the task of editing 'pen friends' quite difficult because their was a lot of clips to choose from and we was not sure which ones would be best. When we finally chose our clips the process seemed quite straight forward as we have experiance with the final cut pro software.

The preliminary task made the process of editing our final film a lot easier as we knew what quality we wanted our final film to be. We improved in several aspects such as using the different tools on final cut pro and the different filters and effects.

Towards the end our our thriller opening we created the split screen effect by over lapping two clips, this showed the victim looking out the door as the villain was walking past i think this created tension in our thriller.

When we created our rough cut the running time of our thriller was 3 minutes and the time of it was meant to be 2 minutes, so we had the task of cutting it down. We found this difficult as we thought all the bits in our opening was vital. But as we started to cut it down we realised that cutting it down made our film more slick and it was more effective as i think it created more tension. We also shortened some of the clips again I think this made our film run more smoothly.

If i had to edit my film again i think i would or experimented with more filters and effects such as negative. Due to timing we did not have enough time to experiment with these effects, but I still think our film served its purpose as a psycological thriller as it made our audience think about what was happening in the film.

EVALUATION Task Seven

Looking back at our preliminary task we can see that we have made massive improvements in or editing skills. One aspect in particular which quality has improved was our match cuts. In our 1st task our match cuts were very fast and did not particularly 'match'. They jerked and went too quick - giving a 'blur' as the end result. However, by looking at several match cuts in our final movies you can tell that we have learnt many new skills and have enhanced our technique. Our new match cuts are very precise, for example the character turns the page at the right spot just as we chose a different camera angle to show this, allowing it to flow easily. The easy flow made it easier to watch and gave quality to the film. The issues we encountered with our match cuts in the preliminary task was that we did not have enough clips to choose from and the ones we did have was not of a good enough quality. This proved to us that we had to take more shots and many angles and camera positions for our final film in order for us to experiement and produce match cuts of a good standard.

EVALUATION Task Two

Comparing our thriller opening to the opening of 'Se7en' you can see that they are both similar and that 'Se7en' influenced us in making our opening. The film language in both opening are also similar and represent particular social groups. To show off our Villain we used a variety of close-ups showing off her hands cutting, which is like the extreme close-ups used in Se7en', this helps to create a sense of unease and mystery. Not seeing the character of the baddies face in our film helps creates suspense as the audience are unaware of who the person is and what exactly it is their doing and why. The close-up shots of the hands help to emphasise how much time and effort is being put into whatever it is the character is doing.
In 'Se7en' it is quite obvious that the characters fingers belong to a man whereas ours belong to a female - which is fully revealed at the end of our opening. This contrast with other thriller villains as normally its not a women who is committing the crime.

Another way in which our thriller opening is similar to 'Se7en' in how they represent a particular social group was the unknowing victims sleeping. These shots help to show the vulnerability of the characters. This also helps contrast of what is going on, everything seems to be 'normal' and relaxed, as the character is unaware that they are about to be a victim. However, at the end of our opening there is a twist as the audience realise that the victim is actually aware that someone is out to get her, which contrasts with 'Se7en' as we our unaware of the relationship between the victim/s and the villain.

Audience Feedback Task 8

Audience Feedback Task 8

Audience Feedback

audience feedback.

EVALUATION Task One

The titles of both of the films are not in a set position and they are kind of scattered on the page. I think this is to represent the unpredicted natures of the films.

Similar to 'Se7en’ we overlapped our footage, we did this to help creates an uneasy atmosphere.

The titles is quite important and it can change the audiences’ perceptions of the film therefore it is vital to have a good title for your film. In ‘se7en’ the title has a black background and white shaky writing. Although this title is quite plain it makes you think because it seems like something is not right. In ‘pen friends’ we created the title in the same way we created the others but we put a negative filter on it and the effect ‘bad TV’. Our other titles are ‘shaky’ and they make the audience feel unease.

Like in 'Se7en' we used a variety of close up shots of hands. This helps to introduce the villain crimes.

Both our shot and the shot from 'Se7en' help show the villains committing their crimes, and introduces the audience to the story.

This image from 'Se7en' actually influenced our shot, even though we used more shots than 'Se7en' did it was still very similar. Doing shots like this helped to show off our groups match-cutting skills.

Both of these images have a high camera angle, which helps the person in shot to come across more vulnerable to the audience.

On the left side of my split screen, the image contrasts light and dark, the still image from 'Se7en' also contrast light and dark.

EVALUATION - task 6

In this project I had to use many new technologies and be able to use each with eachother. I used websites such as 'google' and 'youtube' to research previous thriller openings made by past As media students. I also used those sites to research ideas and themes of what a thriller film should be.

http://www.artofthetitle.com/

This website was used to get screengrabs from other thriller films which have been out in cinema. This was used in my blogs where I described the different conventions used in each screen grab and in my blogs where I compared nine of my screen grabs to 9 from a real thriller movie.

I used the JVC cameras to film our media product. They took a memory card which could then download all our filming on our video drive and transfer it to our apple mac. This made it safer for us to keep our work as it avoided all the hassle of other people stealing/loosing our work as it was on our own personal group video drive.

We also attached a light to the camera - this made the shots look much brighter. Another attachment which we made onto the camera was the microphone. This was because in our movie we had a short scene where the characters phone rings and she answers it. This was a crucial part of the film and could not be missed. Therefore the microphone allowed all the sound to come through clearly and loudly.

Final cut was the programme which we used to edit our film. However, there were other progrmames that inter-linked with Final Cut. We used SoundTrack Pro. to create our soundtrack; our movie could be imported to soundtrack pro so that we knew what pieces of music suited what parts of our film; we then could import our final soundtrack to final cut so that the movie played independly with it's soundtrack. Although we did not use 'LiveType' we were initially, this programme helped to create the titles which could then be imported onto Final Cut and placed whereever on the screen (unless it had a background).

We took many pictures with a camera borrowed from the school; on shoot photos and location shots. Instead of uploading them as images on to my blog, I used final cut pro to create an animation. This was used with our story board aswell to create an animatic storyboard. To create this we simply imported the images on to final cut and dragged them in the order we wished on the timeline. I used the same method to create the ainmation for my evaluation answer to task 5. However, with this task I decided to add a voiceover to describe the audience which I intend on viewing my movie. I used a voice recorder, which took memory card, to record my voice and then uploaded the clips on to my videodrive. After, I imported the clip onto final cut and dragged it down on to my timeline with the matching images.

By using Final Cut i learnt how to convert films and music into 'Quicktime' conversions to be able to download on to my blog. This was done by 'File' and 'Export using Quicktime conversion'. I then had to change the size to '320' (as it is the size blogger prefers) and save it. This made uploading on blogger much quicker and easier. It also showed how I could mix technologies to create interesting and interactive blogs.

I found that all the technologies in this project were very useful. The cameras were one of the most important (with out which no filming could be made), Final cut made it possible to edit and the voice recorder created an alternative from writing to put on to my blog.

Evaluation question 7

Question 7: Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learned in the progression from it to the full product?

The video above shows a clip from our preliminary exercise and a clip from our film our final film 'Pen friends'. The video above demonstrates the development in our editing skills. The match cut in our preliminary activity was not fluid and precise enough whereas in our film pen friends our slick editing allowed our film to flow.
It is evident that the first film was edited by amatures and people who did not have much experience with final cut pro software. our 'match cut' was very basic and it did not link together very well, we did not have sufficient amount of clips to create a sucsesfull match cut. This exercise made us realize the importance of having a variety of shots. When filming our final film 'pen friends' we made sure we took a variety of shots from different angles so we were able to have more freedom when doing the match-cuts so we were able to create more interesting match cuts.

We also paid more attention to the quality of our shots, we made sure all of our shots were in focus. When we were doing our match cut we had some shots that was not in focus therefore we was not able to use them. We also used a 'boom' which made our sound quality a lot better. Although we did not have a lot of dialogue in our films but the sound quality in 'starr nine' was not good and i think it affected the quality of the film.

Our organisation skills improved drastically from the production of 'starr nine' and 'pen friends'. We used our time more productively which allowed us to finish our filming on time. We planned when we were going to film and edit out film so we were more efficient with the production of our film.

Evaluation Question 6

Question 6- What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product.

EVALUATION

Who would be the audience for my media product?

Evaluation question 5

Who would be the audience for your media product?

Skills Audit: Editting

I found editting our final piece the most difficult. This is because we had to choose from many different clips and work with the ones we had (as there was no more time for fresh filming). We used Final Cut Pro which we had previous experience with, therefore, it wasn't too difficult to create the film.

One difficulty that we encountered was cutting our film down. The time it had to be was 2 minutes and ours was nearly 3! We then had to cut out any unnecessary clips and crop the clips that went on for too long. This proved difficult as in our eyes all the clips were necessary and the film would look bad without all of them present. However, once we took a few out we found that it looked much better shorter and some were not needed to make an effective thriller opening. When we cut some clips out we had to move the other clips on the timeline to remove any gaps in which we made. A problem which occurred with this was that the titles would have to be moved and so the transitions and effects on them would disappear. To fix this we would have to make sure all our alterations were done and re-do all the effects on the titles - a long process but had to be done.

Something I felt that went well with our editing was when we split the screen in half and played two different clips at the same time. This was to show that whilst the victim was locking their door, ironically, her stalker was walking past her house. We did this by over lapping two clips that we wanted to play together and cropping the right part of the image of what we wanted to see.

If we were to do this again, I would experiment more with the filters and perhaps add a black and white effect on the film to make it look more eerie. Also, I would use different transitions for the titles so that we could have more of a variety for the titles.

EVALUATION - Task 7

From our preliminary task I feel that our skills have improved significantly and it seemed more easier to create our final piece after having the practice from the preliminary task. By comparing our match cut from 'Starr 9' and several of our match cuts in 'Pen Friend' you can tell that we have more technique in how we cropped and merged the clips together. In 'Starr 9' our only match cut was very quick and looked quite random - we used different clips, that didn't really match, that showed me running up the stairs at different directions and claimed it to be a 'match cut'. This is because we never took enough shots of the same things in different camera shots which resulted in us creating poor match cuts. However, with more training from Micky we managed to get all our match cuts in our final piece on point. We took much more shots of the same thing at different camera languages so that we had more of a variety when creating our match cuts. This then meant that we had to be even more precise of where we were putting our inputs and outputs and had to use the razor tool more often to create the perfect match cut. As we felt more confident in producing quality match cuts, as you can see from our work, we used them more often in our thriller movie which made it visually more interesting to watch.

Another improvement we made, in comparison with our first task, is the dialogue. Even though we did not use much in both, it is evident that there have been improvements made to our final film. In Starr Nine you can hardly hear their voices as it is drowned by the soundtrack. Whilst in our Pen Friend we have lowered the soundtrack and raised the volume of the dialogue in order to hear the phone ringing and character answer. This improved the quality of sound of the film as the audience did not have to strain to hear what is going on. We made our voices sound clearer and louder by attaching a 'Boom' (an attachable microphone) onto the camera.

Rough cut edit

Changes in light of feedback from rough cut

Our rough cut edit was incomplete as we had less time to edit our movie than others because we had to re-film at the last minute due to location issues. To improve our rough cut we made the match cuts more precise by placing the 'input' and 'outputs' at the exact spots - we did this by looking at the timings of the film rather than the film itself. Also, we took out any unnecessary clips so that we could reduce the duration of the film and so that it did not drag. Another reason why we had to take our more clips was because the opening duration had to be approximately 2 minutes long and ours was way over!

Locatio shots

These images are from our new location. We filmed ‘pen friends’ in Jasmins house as it was best suited for the film because it was close to a post box and the area was not busy so we didn’t get a lot of disturbances. I our film we had two locations but we shot both of them in the same location. We have to careful that the two locations didn’t look the same.

Originally our film ‘happy days’ was going to e filmed at college in the drama area (peace gardens) but due to availability of our child actor ad access to the area we decided to change our location and out idea. Filming at college would have made life a lot easier for us as we wouldn’t of had to travel with equipment and our editing process would of been more efficient as it would of been easier to re-shoot some clips if need too.

Skills Audit: creation of soundtrack

I felt that creating a soundtrack that matched our film was most difficult. We had to listen to many different backbeats and rhythms until we came to the conclusion that a simple backbeat wouldn't be enough. This is why we decided to include a voice over as well as a soundtrack. The voice over was of various poems in which we found on google about secrets .This worked as it told the consequences of keeping secrets which was what our film was about. Also, the deep voice (Mica) created an eerie atmosphere as the audience did not know who it belonged to and where it had come from. The voiceover provided a narration for the audience so that they followed the film better and were able to understand the blackmailers intentions.

The soundtrack used along with the voiceover was called 'Awareness'. We did not use the whole track as there was a bit during the end which sounded 'western' and would be better suited for a cowboy themed film, therefore we cut the ending and looped the track so that it continued smoothly. We also added 'Bass Isolation' and 'Texture and Ambience 007'to which sounded like someone murmuring something which is reminiscent of someone telling secrets to someone in their ear - which we took from our original preliminary task.

Our audience feedback showed that the voiceover was another highlight of our film which gave it character and originality.

Evaluation-

How does your media product represet a particular social group ?

I have compared two stills from my opening with two stills from se7en. After watching the opening of se7en I realised that similar film language was used to represent the social groups I our case it is ‘good and bad’. In both of the films close ups ad extreme close ups were used in the shots of the villains, this was to create a sense of mystery ad suspense . In our film we revealed part of our characters face so you could see she was a female character, whereas in se7en all you could see is the persons hand it was more ambiguous which caused the audience to wonder. We chose to reveal the villain at the end of our film I think this shocked the audience as a young woman could be doing such crimes ad it makes them question who is really ‘bad’. Because there was so may close ups of the hands you could tell that the character I ‘se7e’ as a ma and the character I ‘pen friends’ was a woman. This is unusual because I films stereotypically me are usually the villains. The language of the shots helps the audience to realise that the characters are disturbed ad possibly evil as the close ups show the efforts they are going to harm other people.

Similarly in both of the films the victim is represented as a valuable sleeping female character. The shots are mid-shots and the angle of the camera makes the characters seem even more valuable. I our film we used parallel editing to make it obvious to the audience that the two people are connected. Whereas in ‘se7en’ the other person is revealed at the end. A difference between our scenario and the opening of ‘pen friends’ is you find out the victim is aware that someone is out to get them whereas in ‘se7en’ we assume the victim is unaware.

Skills Audit: Creation of titles

Originally, we were going to use 'LiveType' to create our titles like everyone else. On our first attempt, we changed the font and colour of each letter and placed them slightly above/below the previous letter (so that it wasn't on a straighter line). This was meant to give the effect of a poison pen letter - the newspaper cuttings stuck roughly on a page. The background we used was grey and vibrated slightly - this plain background was used as our lettering were quite vibrant and a matching background would have been visually too much to look at.

However, after feedback from our teacher who thought it might be more effective to handmake all our titles we decided not to use 'LiveType'. Her idea was to create the titles from newspaper lettering and then take camera pictures of them slowly being scrunched up on the paper. We would then link all the pictures together and slow it down to give the effect that the paper is opening and revealing the titles. However. we thought that this idea would be very time-consuming and difficult to create. So with further research, from other media teachers, we decided of a very creative and effective was of using the theme of 'poison pen letters' for our titles.

Our new idea involved the camera again. We stuck white paper on a table and used newpapers and magazines to cut our letters for our titles. We then created the titles on the white paper and filmed them being blown off by a fan. In editting, we then slowed down the shot and reversed it - so that it gave the effect of the letters being blown 'on' to the page rather than being blown off. This was easier to do and took less time than our original idea.

We only used to newpaper cuttings idea on the actual names of the people, for their job we used the text tool on final cut which was plain and simple to use. We were able to put it anywhere on the shot and arrange it so that it didn't interfere with the names being blown on. We chose to use simple text and no effect on the text (such as typewriter) as the letters being blown on were already effective and the moving text would of made the titles seem too busy.

On our final title, which was the name of the film, we put an effect on the shot which made it vibrate slightly. We also turnt the shot negative which was to show that things weren't right and it wasn't going to be a 'happy' film. The change of negative on the last title showed the importance of the final title as it was the name of the film and so that it would be the thing the audience remembered.

I feel that our idea for our titles were very original and creative, as most of the other groups used livetype. It was effective as we incorperated the theme of the newspaper cuttings in our titles and it showed a constant pattern of the poison pen letters. We received positive feedback from our audience about our titles and it seemed to be the 'best' aspect of our film.
