Another improvement we made, in comparison with our first task, is the dialogue. Even though we did not use much in both, it is evident that there have been improvements made to our final film. In Starr Nine you can hardly hear their voices as it is drowned by the soundtrack. Whilst in our Pen Friend we have lowered the soundtrack and raised the volume of the dialogue in order to hear the phone ringing and character answer. This improved the quality of sound of the film as the audience did not have to strain to hear what is going on. We made our voices sound clearer and louder by attaching a 'Boom' (an attachable microphone) onto the camera.

EVALUATION - Task 7
From our preliminary task I feel that our skills have improved significantly and it seemed more easier to create our final piece after having the practice from the preliminary task. By comparing our match cut from 'Starr 9' and several of our match cuts in 'Pen Friend' you can tell that we have more technique in how we cropped and merged the clips together. In 'Starr 9' our only match cut was very quick and looked quite random - we used different clips, that didn't really match, that showed me running up the stairs at different directions and claimed it to be a 'match cut'. This is because we never took enough shots of the same things in different camera shots which resulted in us creating poor match cuts. However, with more training from Micky we managed to get all our match cuts in our final piece on point. We took much more shots of the same thing at different camera languages so that we had more of a variety when creating our match cuts. This then meant that we had to be even more precise of where we were putting our inputs and outputs and had to use the razor tool more often to create the perfect match cut. As we felt more confident in producing quality match cuts, as you can see from our work, we used them more often in our thriller movie which made it visually more interesting to watch.
