EVALUATION

Realistically I believe that websites such as 'Youtube' and 'Facebook' would distribute my media product. This is because it is free and easy to upload and allows you to share your video with friends and the general public if you please.

I found this video on 'Youtube', like me these students had to create a 2 minute thriller opening which included titles. I thought their idea and use of 'black and white' filming created a successful thriller opening. They have used the internet to launch their movie to a wider audience by uploading it on video hosting website, 'Youtube', where it was open for a wider range of audience (rather than other students in their school). As they have put their movie onto the internet this has allowed different viewers to watch their media project, including:

  • other AS media students from other colleges/schools
  • students thinking about taking media as an AS
  • people interested in thriller films
  • people who enjoy 'home-made' movies
  • teachers who are looking at other students work

Alternative ways in which I would distribute my film would be on facebook. I would upload it onto my profile and tag all my friends; they could then upload it to theirs or post it on their wall which will appear on their 'News Feed' allowing even more people to view it (friends of friends). I could also create a fan page on facebook so that my friends and other interested audience can join and be able to watch it. I could also create a 'Twitter' account and post 'Tweets' to draw in a wider audience and see who would be interested in watching my film. All these methods would increase my views and allow me to launch it over the internet successfully.
