
I think my film should be distributed by WT2. Similarly to Shaun of the Dead our film has a small budget but the potential audience is large due to the themes involved in the film. For our film to reach its full potential the marketing and advertising strategies has to be on point. I hope that our film follows in the footsteps of Shaun of the dead in terms of success. Shaun of the dead is a British home grown film produced on a small budget yet the film was quite successful because it was able to appeal to a wide audience range.
I think my film has the ability to appeal to a wide audience range with the right marketing and advertising.
Although the film has a small budget I think 'pen Friends' has the potential to make it to the red carpet and hit the wide screen globally.
The release strategy of ‘Pen friends’ is going to resemble the release strategy of paramount’s star trek 2009 and Shaun of the dead. The trailers for this film will be released o the Internet 3 months before its planed release date this will create an international hype. A months before the release the trailer would be released on national television. Like Star treks ‘Pen Friend’ will have three different trailers so the film attracts a wider range of audience. Each of the trailers would show a different aspect of the film.
The Internet is going to be key in the advertisement of our film. Because our film is ’home grow’ and it is being produced on a low budget we are relying on support and participation from the audience. On the web site the audience is going to be able to subscribe to the site ad keep up to date with the filming and the progress the film is making. Again this will help create a hype ad cause a lot of people to talk about the film so when it is released their will be a large amount of people wanting to see it. As well as the website we will also use social networking site such as facebook ad twitter this will appeal to a younger audience. We will also have various billboards’ in different locations such as train stations. Our advertising campaign will also will also involve radio adverts.
